Training sessions
The apprenticeship of Sattriya, which for centuries remained confined to the far away frontiers of Assam, has met in recent years in India with a certain growth. In 2009, for the first time in the history the Satras, this art-form was also taught to both men and women dancers from the West: following the 2008 international tour, the association funded Bhabananda Barbayan to come to conduct training courses in Montpellier, Toulouse and Rodez in the spring of 2009.
He also gave training course in Delhi, at the Srimanta Sankaradeva Bhawan. French students are currently following his training in India, so that they may themselves teach this art-form one day.
